Infrastructure Projects

I worked as Principal Urban Designer or Safety Specialist (CPTED) on the features projects below.

As part of a large multi-disciplinary team creating nationally significant infrastructure pieces these projects gave me excellent experience in complex team structure, dynamic timeframes and the interdependency of different specialities on each other.

Auckland Airport Surface Access Network 

Location: Māngere, Auckland, New Zealand

Date involved: 2023

Client: Auckland Airport

Site: New Eastern and Southern connector roads

Project: Secure future designation of two main surface access points from the south and east, to enable light rail, shared user path, separated bus lanes and water sensitive design elements.

InterIslander Passenger and Cargo Ferry Connection

Location: Wellington & Picton, New Zealand

Date involved: 2022-2023

Client: KiwiRail

Site: on both sides of the Cook Strait with an approx. combined area of 21ha

Project: two new custom-designed ferries and terminals in Wellington and Picton, which will increase capacity and efficiency, and improve the Interislander experience.

Tauriko Enabling Works

Location: Tauranga, Auckland, New Zealand

Date: 2022

Client: Waka Kotahi

Site: Multi-lane transport infrastructure with adjacent shared user path and underpass 

Project: These upgrades, called the Tauriko Enabling Works, will improve safety at SH29/Redwood Lane and SH29/Cambridge Road intersections, enable development within the future Tauriko West Residential Development.
